  Lifetime Achievement Award

(Hon. Charles Rangel speaking to Bill Howard's accomplishments
with the other awardees)

 Mr. William “Bill” Howard
The Honorable Shirley Chisholm’s Lifetime Legacy Award

Bill Howard was 23-years old in 1965 when then New York State Legislator Chisholm and her mentor and campaign manager, the late Wesley McD Holder, asked Howard to be her campaign finance manager.

Howard also served on the Board of Brooklyn’s Jewish Hospital [later merged with Interfaith Hospital Center\], where he chaired the finance committee and once was president of the nursing school. In addition he was a City University of New York board member from 1983 to 1995.

Chisholm depended on the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute for Children, a network of women from all walks of life, to keep her in touch with the community and its concerns. Howard is now first vice president of that group, which is working to preserve Ms. Chisholm's legacy.

For more information on the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute for Children call (646)396-0902 or email them at Shirleychisholmtribute@gmail.com.
