The program will engage more than 1,500 nonprofit and faith-based organizations in Capacity-Building Workshops to be held in the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer of 2007. Valerie Oliver-Durrah is one of the most generous people I have ever met in the field of philanthropy. She is an organizer and a networker and she shares her knowledge and her wide circle of contacts with both the humblest and the most experienced of community organizations. Only Valerie could figure out the right way to tempt some of the largest foundations in the world to come to Brooklyn, Queens, and even Staten Island, to meet with neighborhood non-profits in settings like Concord Church.
